For fans of Hanhoo, you may be aware we recently launched our Cosmic and Glow Blemish Patch. The Cosmic Blemish Patch has a holographic finish while the Glow Blemish Patch (as the name hints) glows in the dark. Both come in fun shapes including stars, hearts, lightning bolts, and sparkles.
While our original line up of blemish patches are beloved as they are, we wanted to create a patch that made blemish care a little more fun. That’s why we created two new patches, each with different effects for a cool twist to our original patches.
Plus, sometimes you want to cover up a pimple if it looks a little too red or you can’t conceal it well with makeup. Our fun patches help provide coverage with cute finishes and fun shapes that you can choose based on your look of the day. And, while we encourage acceptance of all skin regardless of spots, acne, and marks, sometimes acne is still an insecurity for some of us so if you really want to conceal it, our fun patches give you a stylish way to do so.
What are the fun patches made of?
At Hanhoo we are big fans of the superstar material Hydrocolloid. Used for our original blemish patches, Hydrocolloid is also used for both the Cosmic and Glow Blemish Patch so they are just as effective at minimizing problem spots.
Hydrocolloid is the material our blemish patches are made of for its ability to absorb fluids, like pus and excess sebum from a pimple. It also conveniently creates a barrier between the skin and any external irritants (including finger-picking) to help prevent a pimple from getting worse.
Where our Cosmic and Glow Blemish Patch differ is in their finishes. The Cosmic Blemish Patch has a holographic finish that is great for festival looks, fun makeup looks, or even a bare face. On the other hand, the Glow Blemish Patch glows in the dark, which can be super cool for night use.
And of course as both are made with Hydrocolloid, they work great for surface pimples to help pull out gunk and minimize the size of the pimples. They also serve as a cute way to conceal a pimple if you want some extra coverage.
How to use the Cosmic and Glow Blemish Patch

You can use our fun blemish patches in pretty much the same way you would our original blemish patches, with a couple of differences.
First off, you want to start with a clean, dry base. We recommend cleansing and drying the skin before applying our patches. This helps the patches adhere best to the skin. If you apply them after serums and/or moisturizer, they may not stick well and eventually fall off the skin on their own.
And, if you’re using the Glow Blemish Patch there is a small extra step involved. Before applying the patch you have to charge up the patch with a light source, like your phone’s flashlight, for at least 60 seconds. Then you are ready to apply it and watch it glow in the dark. After that, if you notice the patch dim a bit, then you can always recharge it with your light source to keep it glowing.
How else can I use the patches?
As mentioned above, our blemish patches are great for surface pimples and for fun events like festivals. But, it’s ultimately really up to you how you would like to use them. We developed these patches with self-expression in mind. We wanted to not only provide a fun style of blemish care but also a way to facilitate self-expression (while also tackling pesky pimples). Both the Cosmic and Glow Blemish Patch can help turn any pimple into an accessory for any fun look (whether you have somewhere to go or not).
The skin-friendly nature of the patches also means that they can be used in a cool makeup look even if you aren’t covering up a pimple. The 4 different shapes give you a couple of fun options to choose from depending on whatever mood you are in.
