If you’re familiar with Hanhoo, then it’s likely via our beloved, cult-favorite Blemish Patch. Maybe you’ve come across us in the Walmart skin care aisle, or maybe you found us on socials through some of our fans touting their love of our affordable patches (despite how much some of our fans like to gatekeep us).

Since our first introduction to Walmart customers back in 2018 with our Blemish Patch, we have launched multiple products including skincare and different kinds of patches. In case you missed it we’ve recently come out with our Barrier Support Moisturizer to help restore and hydrate the skin. 

All of our products are made for the different skin concerns that can pop up for all skin types including dry to acne-prone skin. 

While some of our more popular products are best for acne-prone skin types, we aren’t just an acne brand. As we look to expand our product collection, we are focused on developing solutions for a variety of skin concerns that work effectively for multiple skin types. This way we can be here for you in any stage of your skincare journey, not just when you’re going through bouts of breakouts. 

 

How we develop for Hanhoo 

 

 

There are multiple teams that come together when creating for Hanhoo. 

Our development team consists of a team here in the U.S. and a team in South Korea. This way we combine the knowledge we have of the skincare needs of our fans here in the U.S. and the standards of development Korea is known for. 

In the development process, we always think of what makes sense for the brand and what our fans may need in their routine to best address any skin concern they may have. When developing and testing out potential new products we consider formulas that are safe for sensitive skin, address a variety of skin concerns, and are universally suitable for all skin types and tones.

 

What Made in Korea means for us 

 

A big component of Hanhoo is that all of our products are made in Korea. We’re sure you’ve noticed that for a few years now K-beauty and Korean skincare has been having its moment in the spotlight. Aside from the great formulas and innovative products that come out of South Korea, the overall development standards of the region are also one of the highlights of being made in Korea. 

Made in Korea means being made with standards including: 

 

  • Required safety and stability testing of cosmetic products
  • Required safety assessment documentation
  • Higher GMP-standards; following the international standard ISO 22716
  • Quality control at every stage of the manufacturing process
  • Restrictions on the use of over 1,000 ingredients in cosmetics (plus consistent updates on ingredients restricted or prohibited following new scientific research)
  • Ban on animal testing

 

So while you’re getting the innovations and sophisticated formulas K-beauty is known for, you’re also getting safe and adequately tested products.

While development and testing is a huge part of creating for Hanhoo, our creative team is just as integral to the brand. Our social and creative teams are inspired by the Hanhoo community, always looking to reflect what we see including all kinds of skin journeys and goals.
